So you have decided to take the Challenge!
Criteriums are short sharp races that take part on a closed circuit usually 1 km in distance. Due to their short distance and duration, citeriums (crits) are normally fast and aggressive. Success in crits requires good cornering skills, good group riding skills (speeds can hit 60km plus), exceptional fitness and most importantly teamwork!
This year we have enlisted the amazing skills also of Frederico Morini, ex Gerolsteiner pro rider, who will be involved in the coaching leading up to FCm Crit and taking your team out for a morning training ride followed by the traditional coffe/breakfast.
The FCm Criterium course is roughly 1km in distance and is a hotdog shaped design. The course has 1 sharp 180 degree turn at the southern end of the course and another 180 degreen turn via a roundaout at the northern end of the course. Bike handling and cornering skills are vital for a fast and safe race.
To ensure you have a safe and fun criterium experience Cycling Science will be running criterium specific training sessions to prepare teams for the big day.
Criterium Training Sessions
Training sessions are designed to give you practical skills for the race. We will cover cornering skills, group riding skills, race tactics and sprinting. Great way to build team spirit. Sessions will cater for beginners to advanced riders. Take advantage of the networking opportunity and combine sessions with other corporate teams.
Great fun!
